Hi! I’m Andrea,

My mission over the past twelve years as a birth educator and doula and has been to help empower families to find their way and make the best, well educated, decisions for their situations.

I married my high school sweetheart and we now have seven tiny humans together, including two sets of twins. After my first birth I became acutely aware of how much information was out there that wasn’t shared by care providers that could drastically improve your birth experience, so for our second I read everything I could get my hands on and hired a doula.

His arrival was everything I was hoping for and ignited a passion for helping other women find their strength to birth the way they want.

A few years, and more kids down the road our first set of twins was delivered at 34 weeks and we were plunged into the NICU life. Nothing truly prepares you for that experience. The mix of emotions, stress, and postpartum period was a lot, coupled with some major complications it took a drastic toll on my health.

We brought home two medically fragile preemies and began to juggle the world of specialists, therapy and food allergies.

Just about the time we thought we might have a handle on our circus, we were surprised with a second set of twins. Another round of inpatient bedrest, and these two arrived at 33 weeks, with yet again, another NICU stay. They arrived home just in time for a global pandemic to hit.

After all of the chaos, I constantly come back to the lack of support for parents during pregnancy and through the first year. There’s so much change, so many questions, and so little help.

Previously Two Roads birth services, I’ve expanded to start from the very beginning and continue throughout that first year with your new bundle. Everything from pregnancy support, childbirth education, birth and postpartum doula, lactation, support groups and motherhood mentoring.

After discovering my midwife grandmother had a busy clinic in Ethiopia; with the same name, it only seemed fitting that her legacy be honored and thus, The Catching House was born.
